What is the importance of Christian education?

Some might suggest that it is only fair to present a variety of religions to your child and let them decide the way they should go. As long as they sincerely believe in the religion they choose, they'll be alright.

But the Bible would have us challenge that idea. It tells us that there is only one way to "be alright" before God, and that is through faith in Jesus. Any other way will lead to eternal death. And God tells us to keep away from false teachings, not consider them harmless or equal. This requires some education both for you as a parent and for your child.

Christian education is important because it gives parents a useful tool to share the most important education there is. "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it" (Proverbs 22:6). God calls you as a parent to direct your child to his/her Savior. And as a church, we want to equip you with even more tools to do so. After all, there's only one gift that you can pass on to your child that really matters: the gift of heaven.

Here in the Brighton, Colorado area, we are blessed with many resources to educate our children. At Living Hope, letting your children attend Sunday School after our 9:15 a.m. service each Sunday is an excellent way to teach them about their Savior.

Our sister congregation in Thornton, Lord of Life Lutheran Church, operates a 3 year old preschool through eighth grade school.

Please visit their website to learn more about the school.

Several WELS churches across the front range operate Rocky Mountain Lutheran High School in Northglenn, Colorado. As a result, there is an opportunity to provide your child with a Christian education from 3 year old preschool all the way through 12th grade.

The Wisconsin Evengelical Lutheran Synod operates several colleges and a seminary also.
