Living Hope Lutheran Church is a congregation in Brighton, Colorado. We are a Lutheran church and a member of the Wisconsin Evengelical Lutheran Synod (WELS)
We worship at our ministry center on Sundays at 9:15 a.m. Worship is followed by Bible study for adults and children.
While every member of our congregation is a minister, the Lord has called Chad Walta to be our pastor. Please read on to get to know both Chad and our congregation a little better...
Greetings from Pastor Walta...
Welcome to the Living Hope website. My name is Chad Walta and I have the privilege of working with these dedicated Christians here as their pastor. Let me tell you a bit about myself:
I'm originally from Lake Mills, Wisconsin, and have graduated from Lakeside Lutheran High School, Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota, and from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin. During my third year of study, I was immersed at the Academia Hispanica of Mexico City, Mexico. I served also a congregation of Mexican Lutheran Christians in the city of Puebla, Mexico. I was blessed to meet my wife, Julia, there.
I have served congregations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and rural Minnesota when I was called to serve as teacher at Rocky Mountain Lutheran High School where I currently teach Spanish and bible classes. I also help coach the baseball team, and baseball continues to be my passion.
Together with my wife, we have two children, Juliette, who is one and a half, and Carlos, our 5 year old. We love being parents of these two blessings that God has given us. I enjoy writing and recording music, as I mentioned, baseball, and just playing and being with my family.
I am pleased to have the opportunity to serve these Christians at Living Hope who genuinely love and serve each other. We would love for you to become a part of our family and come to know Jesus through the Word of our God together with the witness of these faithful servants. I look forward to getting to know you better as we grow together in faith and trust in our Lord Christ!
About the Lutheran Church...
Nearly 500 years ago, the Christian church was corrupted by many false teachings. A man named Martin Luther led people back to the teachings of the Bible. His work, and that of his friends, is called the Reformation. Through Luther God restored the church to purity of doctrine and a new life of faith in Christ. The doctrines of the Lutheran Church are not new. They are the teachings of the Bible. Thus the Lutheran Church is not a new church. It is not a sect or cult. It is a church whose teaching is based on the words written by the prophets of the Old Testament and the apostles of the New Testament. The Bible tells us about Jesus Christ. The teachings of the Lutheran Church are those of the original, ancient church of the apostles and early Christians.
WELS, characterized as theologically conservative, is the third largest Lutheran church body in America. WELS began in 1850 when three German pastors met in Milwaukee. Today, it has grown to over 1,200 congregations in North America. It has over 400,000 baptized members, which includes over 300,000 communicants, served by over 1,000 pastors. The synod operates four ministerial education schools: Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wis.; Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minn.; Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, Wis.; and Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw, Mich.
In addition to the synod operated schools, many congregations of the WELS also operate their own preschools, elementary schools, and high schools.
